The Birthing Center at North Okaloosa Medical Center provides you and baby with one-on-one care in a home-like setting. Babies room-in with their mothers, providing the space and time for family-baby bonding. The center features:

  • Centralized security monitoring system for infant safety
  • Spacious, private suites for labor, delivery, recovery, and post-partum
  • Private bathrooms and showers
  • Family refreshment center
  • Two complimentary meal tickets for support person
  • Foldout couches for a support person
  • Certified lactation counselors to provide breastfeeding support
  • Free breastfeeding and childbirth classes offered monthly

Childbirth Education Classes

Pregnancy is a joyous, exciting and sometimes uncertain journey. Education, knowledgeable doctors and staff, and a caring atmosphere close to home can make all the difference.

Each month, our prenatal education team will meet with expectant parents to go over all aspects of childbirth. Our courses cover a variety of topics, including childbirth preparation, breastfeeding classes and natural childbirth.

We ask all expectant parents to attend childbirth education classes at about 28 weeks of pregnancy. Classes are free; however, class sizes are limited. Advance registration is required.
